Steven James Anderson was sentenced to 9 days in jail for a DUI on a Zamboni after the judge rejected his attorney’s argument that a Zamboni is not a vehicle. A Zamboni, or pretty much anything else on wheels, qualifies as a vehicle in Florida, as well.

Oh, for Pete’s sake. Steven Anderson, the Zamboni driver at a girls’ high school hockey match in Fargo, was driving so badly that some girls’ parents called him in. Anderson was placed under arrest for DUI, dontcha know? Apparently, he wasn’t able to finish the job before the third period, and the players had to finish on rough ice. Heck, no word on whether he took a breathalyzer.

Regular readers of this blog know that you can get a DUI on any kind of vehicle in most states, including Florida. Zamboni’s are big dangerous machines, as any astute viewers of Cheers will remember.  There were reports of another Zamboni DUI just a few years ago...
